SWLA completed the renovation of this 30 year old office complex on El Camino Real in San Mateo. The complex is comprised of a ten story office tower with four, two story buildings and a parking garage at its base. The buildings are linked together by a paved pedestrian plaza over the garage below. Renovation included a new base and lobby for the office tower, replacement of existing tile paving with new stone pavers and new plantings for the plaza and along the street edge of the project. Plants were chosen for their strong form and visual impact and included bamboo, boxwood and a scented, flowering vine. A seasonal rotation of plants was developed for the planters that define the main walk from the garage to the office tower.
