Loyola House
University of San Francisco
Loyola House is the residence for the Jesuit faculty at the Lone Mountain
Campus of the University of San Francisco. The three-story building,
modeled on a traditional cloister, encloses a private garden for the
use of the residents and their guests. The axial design of the garden
is centered on a small fountain and a formal planting area defined
by boxwood hedges, flowering herbs, and olive trees. One end of the
axis terminates in an enclosed seating area adjacent to the chapel;
the other in an overlook that captures sweeping views of the City and
the Bay.
