SWLA has completed the design of the play yard for a new building for the Pacific Primary School in San Francisco. Founded in 1974, the school provides a nurturing learning environment for children from ages 2-1/2 to 6. The 30' x 60' play yard includes a climbing structure, a small sandbox and a gathering area for the children. The yard is paved with resilient paving under the structure and with concrete adjacent to the sandbox area. Stepped retaining walls enclose the sandbox and provide casual seating for the children. Plants include a gift-funded cherry tree, fragrant shrubs and a mix of vines that cover the fences that screen the adjacent buildings.
