Paseo Plaza
San Jose, California
Located next to the San Jose State University campus, Paseo Plaza has been an important component in the revitalization of downtown San Jose. The project evokes the spirit of a 19th century urban residential neighborhood with street level townhouse units and gardens line that face the city streets and cross-block pedestrian malls. Interior units face onto three landscaped courtyards which provide areas for seating and informal activities. The landscape design included garden courtyards over a parking garage, a swimming pool and spa, a one block extension of the downtown pedestrian mall, and landscape improvements along several city streets.
