Located next to the San Jose State University campus, Paseo Plaza has been an important component in the revitalization of downtown San Jose. The project evokes the spirit of a 19th century urban residential neighborhood with street level townhouse units and gardens that face the city streets and cross-block pedestrian malls. Interior units face onto three landscaped courtyards which provide areas for seating and informal activities. The landscape design included garden courtyards over a parking garage, a swimming pool and spa, a one block extension of the downtown pedestrian mall, and landscape improvements along several city streets.
