Located on Main Street in downtown St. Helena, Tra Vigne Restaurant was a popular destination for tourists and residents for 28 years following its opening in 1987. The original building was transformed into an Italian country trattoria through the use of colored stucco washes, decorative metalwork, and renovation of the exterior dining terraces. Landscape improvements included the creation of a new entry to the restaurant from Main Street, installation of a small vineyard and herb garden in front of the restaurant, and the renovation of the outdoor dining courtyard. A decorative fountain, vines, and planter pots with seasonal and perennial color were added to the courtyard to create a rustic, garden-like outdoor dining environment.
