SWLA has completed the preliminary landscape design for a new aquatic center for a private high school in Marin County. Located on a narrow site adjacent to the school library, the aquatic center includes a new, competition-grade pool and associated pool house facility. The main entry to the center, which will be used by both visiting teams and the community, is located on Fifth Avenue and provides a generous landscape setback to buffer the center from the street. A secondary entry is located on Mission Avenue and provides easy access from the main campus. Climate adapted native plants were selected to showcase the school’s colors and to minimize water use. The planting areas also serve as raingardens to help treat the stormwater from the site.
