Located in the housing precinct next to the American River, this new dorm will provide housing for 500 students. The project is composed of a single, four story building that is sited to create a major outdoor courtyard that will serve as the heart of the complex. The main courtyard provides access to the surrounding ground floor uses and offers a range of seating and gathering opportunities for individual as well as groups of students. A bosque of flowering trees will provide seasonal interest and summer shade for the courtyard. Perimeter planting will extend the existing campus landscape fabric which is characterized by large areas of lawn punctuated with informal plantings of deciduous shade trees.
